Use the latest Windows operating system and activate its auto-update feature.

Instructions to remove pop-up windows advertisements and pornography:

Uninstall DownloadWare

Step 1: Perform an automatic uninstall.

From the taskbar, click Start.
Click Settings.
Click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Remove the following programs, if present:
- DownloadWare
- Network Essentials

Step 2: Delete the program folders.

From the taskbar, click Start.
Click Run.
Type C:\Program Files
Click OK.
Delete the following folders:
- DownloadWare
- MovieNetworks
- Network Essentials

Note: To delete a folder, click on the folder to highlight it. Right-click on the folder to open a menu. Click Delete. When the confirmation box appears, click Yes.

Step 3: Edit the registry.

From the taskbar, click Start.
Click Run.
Type regedit
Click OK.
The Registry Editor appears. Click the plus sign (+) next to each of the following:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Software
Delete each of the following in the left pane:
- DownloadWare
- Hopper
- MediaCharger
- Webinstall
Restart the computer.
